This grain originates from the Guji zone of the southern Oromia region, which is considered the birthplace
coffee It has ideal conditions for growing Arabica: high altitude (over 1,500 m);
rich, well-drained (mostly volcanic) soils that require almost no
additional fertilizers; highland tropical climate with 1500–2500 mm of precipitation during
nine-month period and optimal temperatures from 15 to 24°C. For the last 60
years of rapid commercial and cultural development turned Guji into a unique coffee shop
zone, which became a separate administrative unit in 2002. Coffee from here presents
characteristic terroir that distinguishes it from other grains of the Oromia region.
